Understanding the Times
Like the Sons of Issachar who "had an understanding of the times to know what they ought to do" (1 Chronicles 12:32), it may be even more critical today that we as Christians understand the times and the season we are in so that we can be prepared and in alignment with God's purpose for our lives. We are told in Amos 3:7, "Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless he reveals His secret to His servants the prophets." Jesus tells us in John 16:12, "When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come." We know from Acts 2:17-18 that when the Lord pours out His spirit the result is prophetic revelation in dreams, visions and prophecy.
Understanding that God still speaks to His people today, we need to take note what the prophetic voices around the world are saying. There is an increasing sense that we are coming to a great culmination of the age and that everything, as we know it may be about to change. One does not have to be a prophet to see that darkness is trying to overtake the earth. However, one DOES need to be in tune with the Holy Spirit so as not to miss one of the greatest moves of God this world has ever seen. Prophetic voices around the world are emphatically declaring that we are entering into a new spiritual season. Some are calling it a grand finale, some are calling it the Third Great Awakening, others are calling it the End-time Harvest, or "The Great Harvest". No matter what it's called, it's being described as a season in which there will be a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit, resulting in revivals and awakenings around the world like we've never seen.
"THE HARVEST TRULY IS GREAT, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest...." ~ Luke 10:2
